Wet weather and unsafe ground conditions have forced the Bundanoon Highland Gathering committee to postpone one of Australia’s largest Scottish events to August. Much work goes into this great community event, led by volunteers, and the committee, local council and RFS have deemed the site unsafe to run Bundanoon is Brigadoon. With the safety of all involved paramount and also the Gathering’s commitment to caring for the grounds this event had no option but to postpone.
Bundanoon is Brigadoon
After the mists have risen at dawn, the town of Bundanoon in the New South Wales Southern Highlands becomes Brigadoon for a day (even the name on the station changes to Brigadoon!) The main street is closed and there is a bustle of activity as people prepare for the big parade and visitors from all over Australia make their way to Brigadoon (over 10,000 of them).
The good news is this is not a cancellation but just a postponement of one Australia’s premier Scottish events. The Brigadoon committee is happy to announce that they will be holding this years postponed Brigadoon and Ceilidh on the 6th of August.
