“Tartan Day Takeover” Party

Murphy’s Irish Pub will turn Scottish for two hours on Tartan Day. The 2025 celebration will begin at 2 p.m. on Murphy’s outdoor stage with a performance by Scotch ‘n’ Rye, a Norfolk band that plays rock and Americana music with a Celtic twist. At 3 p.m., a short Tartan Day ceremony will feature a “massed band” performance by Tidewater Pipes & Drums and members of four other pipe bands: Greater Richmond Pipes & Drums, Newport News Police Pipes & Drums, Southeastern Virginia Firefighters Pipes & Drums and Williamsburg Pipes & Drums.
